The Way, Way Backstarring Liam James, Steve Carrell, Sam Rockwell and Toni Collette, is a well-done comedy-drama about an introverted teen who, to escape his mother and her new boyfriend during summer vacation, finds friends and a job at a water park.

99 Homes, starring Andrew Garfield and Michael Shannon, is an excellent drama from director Ramin Bahrani, about a man who, after being evicted from his home, goes to work for the man who evicted him and his family.

Eddie the Eagle, starring Taron Eggerton (of Kingsman: The Golden Circle),  and Hugh Jackman, is a thoroughly enjoyable, ’80s-set sports-underdog flick.

In Mr. Holmes, starring Ian McKellen and Laura Linney, “an aged, retired Sherlock Holmes deals with early dementia as he tries to remember his final case.” (IMDb)
