Having trouble getting your PC to recognize your Android phone so you can download your photos? Here’s the secret. When you connect the phone to the PC via the USB cable, the phone should automatically show the USB connection dialog, but the setting defaults to “USB charging”. The USB setting on the phone needs to be set to file transfer (the actual name of the option depends on the Android version). When the setting is set to file transfer, the phone will show up as a device in Windows Explorer on the PC so you can copy the photos from the phone to the PC.
